I became a Tina fan the first time that I listened to "Private Dancer". Most fans begin their collection with this album. A few years ago, Tina was due to appear in my home town while on a tour of Spain.

It was Sunday, 8 July 1991. I was disappointed because my contacts with most of the local hotels had proved useless - Tina was staying elsewhere. I was on summer vacation at
the time and arrived at the venue in the morning with my brother, 8 hours before the concert! I was tired when we eventually got inside the stadium but we managed to get in the front row to the right of the stage.

Instead of the "Neville Brothers", who had been with Tina for most of the tour, the opening act was two guys who were soon boo-ed off the stage. An experience I would rather forget. My back was beginning to hurt after all the standing ... BUT ... then the lights went down and Tina started the healing. For the next 3 hours, I forgot about my sore back.

The concert was good. 45 000 people were there and everyone was happy for 2 hours. You know what a Tina concert is liek ..... Time goes by so fast when you are having fun. :-(

After the last song, Tina started saying "Goodbye" and blowing kisses into the crowd. Guess who got the last one ..... YES .... ME!!!

After the show, a group of girls who had been trying to attract the camerman's attention during the show, called him over to chat. As he could not speak any English, they asked someone to translate and there I was. I translated a bit and made a few jokes. Suddenly he went up onto the stage and came back with a drum stick and a guitar pick - for the GIRLS!

Jokingly I said that this was unfair as there was no camerawoman that I could chat up. With that he went back to the stage and brought back another drum stick and guitar pick for my brother and I. You can see them, my concert ticket and a photo taken on the tour on the left.
